A quadrilateral is a four-sided two-dimensional shape. Examples: square, rectangle, rhombus, trapezium,parallelogram and kite.Triangle on the other hand has three sides and three angles also known as trigon. The root word "tri" means"three" and the root word "quad" means "four". Hence, a triangle is not a quadrilateral.
